About me

Who I am
My name is Gaureen Sidhu and I am a grade 10 student attending Balmoral Hall School. In my spare time, I enjoy playing guitar, video games, sewing, and musical theatre. Not to mention, going to the movie theatre.
Movies have always been a big part of who I am and I've enjoyed the option to explore my interest more in this class. One of my favourite things about film is how it connects us to the people around us.
When watching a movie, you get to experience every funny or emotional moment that the characters are experiencing. This aspect only enhances in a theatre. In a theatre, you get to do the same things while also connecting with those around you. Everyone is watching the same thing at the same time, feeling similar emotions, which is something I find to be beautiful.

What I Hoped to Accomplish
My goals within this project were to learn more about the film making process. I did this by researching the steps, and going from there. My research can be viewed in the "Research and Brainstorming" page. I hoped to be able to deep dive into one aspect of the film making process while also having something to show for my research, which eventually led me to creating a screenplay.
I hoped to show others how much work is needed in order to create a feature-film. This would help others appreciate every aspect of the film making process, because there is no job too small.
"For me, filmmaking combines everything. That’s the reason I’ve made cinema my life’s work. In films, painting and literature, theatre and music come together. But a film is still a film."
